SeaScape "Escape to Write" Writers Retreat. September 10-12, 2010. SeaScape Retreat House, Madison, Connecticut.  Devote a weekend to reinvigorating your creativity and revising your manuscript on the beautiful shores of Long Island Sound. Tune out distractions from the outside world as you spend time brainstorming, critiquing, revising and setting goals with other talented, committed crime fiction writers. Authors Hallie Ephron, S.W. Hubbard and Roberta Isleib will guide you in assessing and improving three essential components of your writing.

The Pacific Northwest Bookseller's Association Fall Show: October 7-9, 2010. Airport Holiday Inn, Portland, OR. The Pacific Northwest Bookseller's Association Fall Show will be held at the Portland, Oregon Airport Holiday Inn October 7-9. This trade show attracts booksellers and librarians from all over the Northwest. The Harriet Vane Chapter of SinC based in Portland will be staffing the SinC table, hosting local SinC authors and distributing promotional material from authors. SinC authors interested in having their promotional materials (50 pieces) distributed or in making an appearance should contact Arlene Sachitano. Printed materials should be delivered to her address at 6947 SW 27th Avenue, Portland OR 97219 by September 23, please.

Southern Festival of Books. October 8-10, 2010. Nashville, TN. The Middle Tennessee Chapter of Sisters in Crime will host a booth at the Southern Festival of Books. Promotional materials for SinC will be handed out, and a basket of mystery books by SinC authors will be given away in a drawing at the close of the Festival. A three-day event, the Southern Festival of Books is expected to attract around 20,000 book enthusiasts to downtown Nashville. Complete information on the Festival is available here. Sisters in Crime is holding their annual SinC Into Great Writing 2010 one day prior to Bouchercon By the Bay in San Francisco. Sponsored by the New England chapters of Sisters in Crime and MWA, the Ninth Annual New England Crime Bake will take place November 12-14, 2010, at the Hilton Boston/Dedham in Dedham, MA.
