Guest of Honor Craig Johnson is the New York Times bestselling author of ten mystery novels featuring Absaroka County, Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire. His series about the book-loving, straight-talking former Marine turned lawman inspired the acclaimed A&E drama, Longmire, renewed for its third season.

The late Robert B. Parker said, “Johnson knows the territory, both fictive and geographical, and he tells us about it in prose that crackles,” and author Dana Stabenow wrote on her blog, “The dialogue in these novels is so good you feel privileged to eavesdrop in, sort of John Wayne channeling Samuel Johnson, only better read and more articulate.”

Craig's books have twice been finalists for the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association Dilys Award, and they have won the Western Writers of America Spur Award, Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, Library Journal Best Mystery of the Year, as well as Le Prix du Polar Nouvel Observateur/BibliObs and Le Prix 813 for French-language editions.

Craig grew up in West Virginia and served as a New York City patrol officer before earning a doctorate at Temple University. For more than 20 years, he has lived in the log home he built in Ucross, Wyoming, population 25, in the Big Horn Mountain country.
